About the Loddiswell Pump Track Project
Creating a safe, inclusive, and exciting space for our community to ride, learn, and grow together.
What is a Pump Track?
Pump tracks are both playgrounds and training facilities for bikers, skateboarders, and scooter riders of all skill levels. These asphalted tracks are hotspots for all kinds of riders who seek a fun and action-filled sports experience.
Pump tracks are highly popular destinations that become a hive of community activity. Riders enjoy practicing the basic skills of carrying momentum, improving balance and building speed by using their arms and legs to "pump" their bike/board/scooter around the track.
As riders improve their skills, the tracks are designed to provide the option for more challenges with increased speed and skill, without needing to change the construction: a feature that a 3-year-old can roll through can also be used as a gap jump for a professional.

Creating a greener, more biodiverse space for our community to enjoy
Environmental Enhancement
The Loddiswell Pump Track project goes beyond creating a recreational facility. With funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we'll transform the surrounding area into a haven for both people and nature.
By planting trees and rewilding sections around the track, we'll create a more pleasant environment that contributes to local biodiversity. This approach ensures the pump track integrates naturally with its surroundings while providing environmental benefits for generations to come.
Tree Planting
New trees will be planted around the track to enhance the natural environment and provide shade for spectators
Rewilding Areas
Dedicated zones will be rewilded to create habitats for local wildlife and increase biodiversity
Native Plants
Native plant species will be introduced to support local ecosystems and pollinators
Sustainable Design
Environmentally friendly construction methods and materials ensure minimal impact on the landscape

"This would be an awesome community asset. We live in KB and would visit with our 3 children regularly. Even better if there was a cafe or food truck there!"— Charlie Baker
